Paramount Options is committed to safeguarding adults and vulnerable people by promoting safe practice, clear reporting routes and a culture where concerns are taken seriously.

Safeguarding support

Safe care starts with awareness

Safeguarding means recognising risks early, listening carefully, responding appropriately and ensuring people are protected from harm.

Care and safeguarding

Our safeguarding commitment.

Paramount Options works to protect people from abuse, neglect, exploitation and avoidable harm.

We believe every person has the right to feel safe, be heard, be respected and receive care that protects their dignity and wellbeing.

Our safeguarding approach supports staff, families, professionals and service users with clear guidance on identifying, recording and escalating concerns.

Safeguarding Principles

Safe practice is built into how care is delivered.

We promote clear standards, appropriate escalation and person-centred protection.

01 / Prevention

Reducing risk

We aim to prevent harm by encouraging awareness, safe practice, staff training and clear communication.

02 / Protection

Responding quickly

Concerns are taken seriously and should be recorded, escalated and acted on through the correct pathway.

03 / Partnership

Working together

We work with families, professionals, local authorities and relevant agencies where safeguarding action is needed.

04 / Accountability

Clear responsibility

Everyone involved in care has a responsibility to report concerns and support safe outcomes.

05 / Empowerment

Listening to people

People should be supported to express concerns, preferences and decisions wherever possible.

06 / Dignity

Respectful support

Safeguarding must protect people while respecting their dignity, privacy and individual rights.

Awareness & Action

Recognise, record and report concerns.

Safeguarding depends on early recognition and clear action when something does not feel right.

Safeguarding awareness

Recognise signs

Be alert to changes in behaviour, unexplained injuries, neglect or signs of distress.

Safeguarding care support

Record clearly

Concerns should be recorded accurately, calmly and without unnecessary assumptions.

Report safeguarding concern

Report promptly

Concerns should be escalated quickly through the right safeguarding route.

How to report a safeguarding concern

If you believe someone is at immediate risk of harm, contact emergency services first. For non-emergency safeguarding concerns, contact Paramount Options so the concern can be reviewed and escalated appropriately.

01

Identify the concern

Notice what happened, who is involved, where it happened and whether there is immediate risk.

02

Record the facts

Write down clear factual details, dates, times, names, observations and any direct words used.

03

Report promptly

Raise the concern with the appropriate safeguarding lead or contact route as soon as possible.

Follow escalation

Where required, concerns may be escalated to relevant professionals, local authority safeguarding teams or emergency services.
